International Supply Chain Professionals Day
June 7 · Level 7 · #895 of 2238
This day is for the people who get goods from factory to shelf to your front door. Planners, buyers, warehouse crews and carriers usually work behind the scenes, and the day puts them in the spotlight.
How it is celebrated: companies thank colleagues in team chats and meetings, swap stories about their toughest deliveries, and sometimes treat the whole logistics crew to coffee and cake.
According to UN trade estimates, over 80 percent of world trade by volume travels by sea, so even a simple purchase often begins on a container ship.
