Remembrance Day for Russia's Fallen Emergency Responders
April 24 · Level 3 · #1689 of 2238

This day remembers members of Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations who died in the line of duty. It honours firefighters, rescuers and other personnel, while recognising the families left behind.
How it is celebrated: colleagues and relatives gather at memorials, lay flowers and observe a minute of silence. Remembrance meetings in emergency service units share stories about those who died, their work and the lives they helped save.
Remembrance also becomes part of everyday service: fire and rescue units and vehicles can carry the names of fallen personnel. Their names remain present as colleagues continue responding to emergencies.
