International Day for Judicial Well-being
July 25 · Level 3 · #1766 of 2238

International Day for Judicial Well-being draws attention to the health and working conditions of judges and court staff. Behind each case are people managing demanding workloads, serious responsibilities and sometimes deeply distressing evidence.
How it is celebrated: professional communities hold discussions and seminars on stress, colleague support and workplace practices. Participants explore ways to make psychological support easier to access and reduce the risk of burnout.
People can be affected by traumatic events they never experienced themselves. Repeated exposure to other people's trauma can cause secondary traumatic stress, including among those working in the justice system.
