Investigators' Day in Russia
July 25 · Level 7 · #896 of 2238

Russia's Investigators' Day honours the staff of criminal investigation bodies. It recognises the painstaking work of establishing what happened, examining evidence and determining who may be responsible for a crime.
How it is celebrated: institutions hold formal gatherings, present awards and commendations, and welcome veterans. Colleagues reflect on demanding investigations and acknowledge mentors who pass their experience on to newer staff.
An investigator does not decide guilt: that is the court's role. Investigations must examine evidence that supports an accusation as well as material that may clear the accused.
