International Men's Day
November 19 · Level 6 · #1106 of 2238

International Men's Day highlights men's health, positive role models and respectful relationships. It offers a chance to thank fathers, friends, colleagues and mentors, while making room for conversations about difficulties men may feel expected to keep to themselves.
How it is celebrated: community organizations hold discussions and awareness events about physical and mental wellbeing. Families and local groups recognize men whose care and everyday actions make a difference to others.
The modern observance traces back to Jerome Teelucksingh's initiative in Trinidad and Tobago in 1999. He chose his father's birthday as the date.
