Global Community Engagement Day
January 28 · Level 3 · #1722 of 2238
This day is about giving people a real say in decisions that shape their neighbourhood, town or organisation. It shows that good ideas often come from the people who live with the results, not just from the meeting room.
How it is celebrated: local authorities, schools and organisations hold resident meetings, surveys and open discussions about future projects. Professionals who work with communities swap tips on how to make sure everyone is heard.
Local councils join in too, among them Sutherland Shire in New South Wales, Australia.
