Fascination of Plants Day
May 18 · Level 4 · #1544 of 2238
On this day plant scientists invite everybody to take a closer look at the green things around us. Plants feed us and give us oxygen, and research on them helps with food supply, climate and nature.
How it is celebrated: laboratories and universities open their doors, botanical gardens run guided walks, and school pupils try simple experiments with seedlings. Many people mark it by visiting a park or sowing something on a windowsill.
The day was launched by the European Plant Science Organisation, and it quickly grew into an event with participants in many countries around the world.
