October 24 · Level 5 · #1222 of 2238
Diplomatic Workers' Day of the Kyrgyz Republic recognizes the people who represent the country abroad and maintain its international relationships. Their work ranges from negotiations and cooperation projects to consular support for citizens far from home.
How it is celebrated: the foreign ministry holds ceremonial gatherings and presents staff awards. Colleagues exchange congratulations, recognize experienced members of the service and reflect on milestones in Kyrgyz diplomacy.
The holiday shares its date with United Nations Day, linking a national professional celebration with the anniversary of an organization that provides a meeting place for diplomacy between many countries.
