World Sustainable Transport Day
November 26 · Level 10 · #203 of 2238
World Sustainable Transport Day reminds us that the way we get to work or school is also a question of climate and clean air. It spotlights safe, affordable and low-emission ways of moving around.
How it is celebrated: cities open new bike lanes and host walks and group rides, and some offer cheaper public transport for the day. Companies nudge staff to leave the car at home and commute some other way.
The UN General Assembly proclaimed this day in 2023, which makes it a very young date on the calendar.
