World Suicide Prevention Day
September 10 · Level 9 · #344 of 2238

World Suicide Prevention Day focuses on preventing suicide and supporting people through crisis. It encourages conversations without judgment and helps make sources of support more visible.
How it is celebrated: communities hold awareness events, share information about support services and offer training for professionals and volunteers. Candlelight gatherings also provide space to remember people who have died and support those bereaved.
The campaign began in 2003 through the International Association for Suicide Prevention in collaboration with WHO, giving this global effort more than two decades of history.
