International Creepy Boston Dynamics Robotic Horse Day
September 10 · Level 8 · #594 of 2238
This is a joke day for anyone who finds walking robots a little unnerving. Videos of four-legged machines from Boston Dynamics trotting, running and stumbling delight some viewers and make others glance nervously over their shoulders.
How it is celebrated: people rewatch robot videos, swap memes, give the mechanical animals names and argue over whether they are funny or just a bit creepy.
Boston Dynamics began in 1992 as a spin-off from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was founded by engineer Marc Raibert.
