World Day of the Snowman
January 18 · Level 3 · #1676 of 2238
World Day of the Snowman is an informal celebration of winter’s most approachable sculpture. A few snowballs and a little imagination are enough to create a character, making this an easy occasion for families and neighbours to get creative together.
How it is celebrated: people build snowmen, give them costumes and expressions, organise friendly contests and share photographs. Where snow is missing, drawings and craft versions let everyone join in without waiting for colder weather.
The number 18 provides a visual clue to the chosen date: the eight resembles a snowman’s rounded body, while the one looks like a broom beside it.
