World Religion Day
January 18 · Level 5 · #1127 of 2238

World Religion Day creates space for people of different faiths to meet, listen and explore shared ethical values. It encourages respectful dialogue and cooperation between religious communities while leaving room for their distinct beliefs and traditions.
How it is celebrated: communities organise interfaith discussions, talks and cultural programmes. Participants explain their traditions, answer questions and consider ways to work together for the wider community.
The observance began with the Bahá’í community in the United States in 1950. Its calendar date moves each year because it takes place on the third Sunday in January.
