World Computer Literacy Day
December 2 · Level 6 · #1002 of 2238
World Computer Literacy Day encourages everyone to feel at home with digital technology. Knowing your way around a computer is now almost as useful as reading and arithmetic.
How it is celebrated: schools, libraries and training centres run free lessons and workshops, and volunteers help children and older people get to grips with email, searching for information and staying safe online.
The day began in 2001, started by NIIT, an Indian IT training company, to mark its own anniversary.
