Ukrainian Cultural Workers and Folk Artists Day
November 9 · Level 3 · #1597 of 2238
This Ukrainian professional holiday honours the people who keep cultural life and folk traditions thriving. It recognises museum and library staff, cultural centre teams, musicians and craftspeople who pass their skills to another generation.
How it is celebrated: concerts, exhibitions and meetings with artisans bring their work to an audience. Cultural workers receive awards, while practical workshops let visitors explore local traditions and try making something themselves.
Folk heritage includes more than the finished objects displayed in museums. The knowledge needed to create them is also cultural heritage, preserved through teaching and practice.
