Russian Gymnastics Day

Russian Gymnastics Day celebrates a sport that brings strength, balance, flexibility and precision together. It also recognises the coaches who help beginners build confidence long before their first polished routine.

How it is celebrated: gymnastics clubs and sports schools organise demonstrations, competitions, open training sessions and workshops. Young participants can explore different disciplines and try suitable exercises with a coach's guidance.

Artistic gymnastics was part of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896. Rhythmic gymnastics made its Olympic debut much later, in 1984.
