World Savings Day
October 31 · Level 3 · #1646 of 2238

World Savings Day promotes the habit of saving and a clearer understanding of personal finances. It brings attention to everyday decisions, from tracking spending to setting money aside for an unexpected expense or a longer-term goal.
How it is celebrated: banks, schools and financial education organisations run workshops and awareness campaigns. Children's activities often use savings boxes and games to make budgeting and saving easier to understand.
The observance began at an international savings banks congress in Milan in 1924. A familiar household habit gained an international day of its own.
