International Universal Health Coverage Day

This day makes one point: everyone should get the health care they need without being pushed into poverty by the bill. That is the idea of universal health coverage, health services open to all.
How it is celebrated: doctors, charities and governments hold conferences, information campaigns and social media drives to draw attention to people who cannot reach a doctor.
The date goes back to a UN General Assembly resolution adopted on 12 December 2012, which urged countries to move towards universal coverage. The goal later became target 3.8 of the Sustainable Development Goals.
