United Nations Public Service Day
June 23 · Level 5 · #1138 of 2238
United Nations Public Service Day recognises the people and institutions behind services communities rely on. It highlights the value of working for the public and encourages young people to consider careers in public service.
How it is celebrated: public institutions share successful projects, hold professional forums and discuss ways to make services more accessible. The United Nations Public Service Awards are associated with the occasion.
The name can be misleading: this is not simply a day for UN employees. It honours the contribution of public servants around the world.
