Police Day in Kazakhstan
June 23 · Level 6 · #999 of 2238
Kazakhstan's Police Day recognises officers who maintain public order, investigate crime and help people in emergencies. It is also an occasion to acknowledge police veterans and remember colleagues who died on duty.
How it is celebrated: police departments hold ceremonies, present awards and congratulate serving officers. Meetings with veterans and flowers laid at memorials bring the service's history into the day's events.
The date recalls a law on internal affairs bodies adopted on 23 June 1992, during the early years of Kazakhstan's independence.
