Tatiana Day — Russian Students' Day

Tatiana Day brings together the feast of Saint Tatiana and Russia's celebration of student life. For university communities, it is a chance to meet beyond the lecture hall, recognise student achievements and enjoy the friendships that grow alongside an education.

How it is celebrated: universities organise concerts, competitions, gatherings and awards for students. Friends arrange their own parties, while religious observances include services honouring Saint Tatiana.

The student connection comes from Moscow University. Empress Elizabeth signed the decree establishing it in 1755 on Saint Tatiana's feast day according to the calendar then used in Russia.
