Migration Service Workers’ Day in Russia
June 14 · Level 6 · #983 of 2238

This professional observance recognises Russia’s migration service staff. Their duties cover passports, citizenship, registration and foreign nationals’ residence matters: paperwork that can shape a move, a new job or a family’s plans.
How it is celebrated: departments congratulate employees and veterans, presenting awards and commendations for their service. Workplace ceremonies also recognise experienced colleagues and mentors whose contribution rarely attracts public attention.
The holiday’s name outlasted the Federal Migration Service itself. That agency was abolished in 2016, and its functions were transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
