Father’s Day in Belgium
June 14 · Level 2 · #1910 of 2238

Father’s Day in Belgium gives families a moment to thank dads for their care, encouragement and everyday presence. Father figures may get a share of the appreciation too, with the emphasis on the people who help children grow.
How it is celebrated: children make cards and handmade presents, while families share breakfast, lunch or an outing. Small gifts and a little unhurried time together are familiar ways to celebrate.
Belgian dads do not all celebrate on the same date. Most of the country uses the second Sunday in June, while Antwerp and the surrounding area also have a tradition of observing Father’s Day on Saint Joseph’s Day, 19 March.
