Rescuer's Day in Armenia
September 4 · Level 10 · #157 of 2238
Armenia's Rescuer's Day honours the people who respond to fires, accidents and natural disasters. It recognises a profession in which someone else's emergency becomes an immediate call to action.
How it is celebrated: rescue personnel receive awards, veterans are congratulated and colleagues who died on duty are remembered. Ceremonies also recognise service during difficult operations.
Their work reaches beyond Armenia's borders: Armenian rescue teams helped search for survivors in both Turkey and Syria after the devastating earthquakes of 2023.
