The second day of Valentine's Week, when people take the plunge and say what they feel. Some propose marriage, others simply confess a crush or ask someone out.
How it is celebrated: couples book candlelit dinners, hand over rings or handwritten notes, and pick a special spot for the big question. Plenty of people keep it small, with a heartfelt message and a smile.
The day sits between Rose Day and Chocolate Day, so flowers and sweets often join the confession. The whole run of themed days builds towards Valentine's Day on 14 February.
