Police Day in Azerbaijan
July 2 · Level 8 · #480 of 2238
Police Day in Azerbaijan recognises officers who maintain public order and protect people’s safety. It combines appreciation for serving staff and veterans with remembrance of those who died in the line of duty.
How it is celebrated: formal ceremonies include awards, congratulations and recognition of distinguished service. Officers also lay flowers at memorials and honour fallen colleagues.
The occasion looks back to the establishment of the police in 1918, during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. That historical link connects today’s service with an early chapter of the country’s statehood.
