Economic Security Units of the Russian Police Day
March 16 · Level 9 · #374 of 2238
This is a professional day for police officers who investigate economic crime: fraud, embezzlement and corruption. It reminds people that honest business and fair deals rest on the patient work of detectives and analysts.
How it is celebrated: units hold formal gatherings, honour their best officers and veterans, and hand out awards. Colleagues also swap experience and stories from the job.
The forerunners of these units were the OBKhSS, Soviet departments for combating the theft of socialist property, set up in 1937.
