International Dot Day
September 15 · Level 4 · #1386 of 2238

This day grew out of Peter H. Reynolds' picture book The Dot and its gentle message: make your mark and see where it takes you. It is a nudge to try creating something even if you think you can't draw.
How it is celebrated: classrooms and clubs doodle dots in every colour and size, build them into big shared artworks and talk about the story.
In the book, a girl named Vashti insists she cannot draw. Her teacher simply asks her to make a mark on the paper, and that single dot starts everything.
