Free Money Day is an informal celebration of the cash left over after rent, bills and other must-pay costs. It invites you to ask where that money goes and whether it actually makes you happy.
How it is celebrated: people go through their personal budgets, try saving challenges and swap ideas about sensible spending with friends. Some set aside a little for a dream, others send it to a charity.
The day has no official status and appears in no government calendar, so everyone is free to invent their own way to mark it. A good team game is to agree together on how to spend an imaginary thousand.
