International Coworking Day

This day celebrates people who work side by side in shared spaces: freelancers, startup founders and whole remote teams. It shows that a workplace can be more than an office or a kitchen table: it can be a community.
How it is celebrated: coworking spaces hold open days, shared breakfasts, networking evenings and talks for members. Many let visitors try a desk for free for the day.
The date was picked for a reason: on 9 August 2005 the first space to be called a coworking space opened in San Francisco.
