Internal Security Units Day of Russia's Interior Bodies
December 18 · Level 7 · #702 of 2238
Internal Security Units Day honours the officers who check on the police themselves. They make sure that colleagues act within the law and work against corruption inside the Russian interior ministry system.
How it is celebrated: units hold formal meetings, present awards to outstanding officers and invite veterans of the service. Senior officials at the ministry and in regional departments send greetings.
It is a departmental holiday, not a day off, and it is marked mostly within the service itself.
