This unofficial Russian professional day recognises the people who keep employment matters running smoothly. HR and personnel teams handle recruitment paperwork, maintain records and help employees navigate changes throughout their working lives.
How it is celebrated: colleagues send congratulations, managers thank their personnel teams, and professional groups arrange meetings or seminars. Some workplaces keep things simple with a shared tea break.
Russian HR calendars contain another celebration on 24 May. The profession therefore has two familiar dates for congratulations rather than one universally observed occasion.
