Hard Candy Day
December 19 · Level 5 · #1234 of 2238

Hard Candy Day is dedicated to sweets you can happily suck on for ages. They are one of the simplest treats made from sugar, yet they come in endless flavours and shapes.
How it is celebrated: candy dishes come out, people try new flavours, share mints and lollipops, and keen cooks have a go at making their own.
Hard candy is made by cooking sugar syrup to roughly 150 to 155 degrees Celsius, a stage confectioners call the "hard crack", after which the mixture cools into something glassy.
