Russian Military-Technical Cooperation Service Workers' Day
May 8 · Level 6 · #972 of 2238
This is the professional day of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, the Russian body that oversees how military equipment is sold abroad and bought from other countries. Its people work with negotiations, licences and carefully worded contracts.
How it is celebrated: typically with ceremonial meetings, thanks and departmental awards, and congratulations for both current staff and veterans of the service.
One of the service's key jobs is issuing licences for the export and import of military goods, and without that paperwork such a shipment cannot legally cross the border.
