Donor Day in Armenia

Donor Day in Armenia is a chance to thank people who give blood of their own free will. It is a reminder that hospitals need donations all year round, not just in emergencies.

How it is celebrated: donors are thanked at meetings and ceremonies, doctors and volunteers explain how giving blood works, and many people visit blood centres to donate for the first time or to come back again.

Donated blood is separated into parts: red cells, plasma and platelets. Because of this, a single donation can help several different patients.
