National Security Workers' Day in Armenia
January 8 · Level 8 · #540 of 2238
This is the professional day of Armenia's national security officers. It thanks the people who protect the state and its citizens from threats at home and abroad.
How it is celebrated: there are formal gatherings and award ceremonies, and officers are congratulated by their commanders and families. Colleagues who died in the line of duty are remembered separately.
The work of security services mostly stays out of public view. That makes ceremonies like these one of the few occasions when their work is talked about openly.
