Father's Day in Russia recognises the care, encouragement and everyday work that fathers bring to children's lives. It gives families a reason to say thank you for everything from patient explanations to simply being there.
How it is celebrated: children make cards and give presents, families spend time together, and libraries or cultural centres organise workshops, gatherings and friendly family competitions.
The nationwide observance was introduced in 2021, although some Russian regions already had their own celebrations. It falls on the third Sunday in October, so its calendar date changes each year.
