Civil Aviation Workers' Day in Azerbaijan
June 2 · Level 7 · #861 of 2238

Azerbaijan honours the people who keep civilian flights moving safely, from pilots and cabin crews to controllers, engineers and ground staff. The occasion brings some well-deserved attention to work passengers rarely see.
How it is celebrated: aviation organisations hold ceremonies, present awards and thank their employees. Tributes to industry veterans and accounts of the country's aviation history also feature.
The date recalls the establishment of Azerbaijan's first aviation group in 1938. The professional holiday itself was introduced much later, in 2006.
