November 28 · Level 9 · #327 of 2238

Albania’s Independence Day marks 28 November 1912, when Ismail Qemali declared the country independent of the Ottoman Empire in the city of Vlorë.
How it is celebrated: red flags with the black double-headed eagle fly over towns, and there are ceremonies, concerts and marches, especially in Vlorë and Tirana.
The date also serves as Flag Day, and Albania celebrates Liberation Day on 29 November, so the country gets two days off in a row.
