World Youth Skills Day
July 15 · Level 7 · #832 of 2238

World Youth Skills Day highlights the abilities young people need to find work, build a career or start a business. It puts practical learning and access to training at the centre of the conversation about their future.
How it is celebrated: training providers, employers and youth organisations hold workshops, skills demonstrations, competitions and mentoring events. Participants can explore unfamiliar careers and discover ways to continue learning.
The UN General Assembly established the observance in 2014, with the first celebration taking place in 2015. Its focus reaches beyond academic qualifications to the practical skills people use in working life.
