Russian Laziness Day

Russian Laziness Day is an unofficial, tongue-in-cheek excuse to slow down and put optional chores aside. There is no achievement to unlock: an unhurried day with room for a favourite pastime fits the idea perfectly.

How it is celebrated: people exchange humorous greetings, relax with a book, enjoy leisurely company or make an easy meal. Even reclaiming one quiet hour can be a suitable contribution.

Laziness has a culinary namesake in Russian cooking: lazy vareniki. Instead of enclosing a separate filling in dough, the cook mixes curd cheese straight into the dough, saving the work of filling and sealing each dumpling.
