World Standards Day
October 14 · Level 6 · #1020 of 2238
World Standards Day recognises the experts who agree on shared requirements for products, technologies and services. Their work supports quality checks, improves safety and helps different systems work together.
How it is celebrated: standards organisations hold conferences, seminars and awareness campaigns. Specialists use everyday examples to explain why common rules matter and acknowledge the people serving on technical committees.
Even an ordinary sheet of A4 paper follows an international standard. The proportions of A-series paper allow a sheet to be halved while keeping the same aspect ratio.
