National Education Day in Poland
October 14 · Level 3 · #1589 of 2238

Poland's National Education Day honours teachers and the wider community of people who keep schools running. It is a chance to recognise their knowledge, care for pupils and the substantial work that happens outside lessons.
How it is celebrated: schools hold ceremonies and student performances, with flowers and messages of thanks for teachers. Education workers also receive awards recognising their achievements.
The date commemorates the creation of the Commission of National Education in 1773, an institution often described as one of Europe's first ministries of education.
