World Habitat Day
October 5 · Level 9 · #403 of 2238
World Habitat Day puts the places we live in the spotlight, from large cities to smaller communities. It champions adequate housing and asks how neighbourhoods can become safer, more inclusive and easier to live in.
How it is celebrated: public discussions, exhibitions and community projects bring residents together with planners and local authorities. Housing, transport and shared spaces are common subjects.
Despite a name that might suggest wildlife, this UN observance focuses on human settlements.
