Russian Criminal Investigation Officers’ Day
October 5 · Level 8 · #467 of 2238
Russian Criminal Investigation Officers’ Day honours police operatives who help solve crimes, locate suspects and search for missing people. It recognises demanding work that often happens far from public view.
How it is celebrated: units congratulate staff, present awards and invite veterans to meet serving officers. Commemorations also remember colleagues killed on duty and explore the service’s history.
A criminal investigation operative and a formal investigator have distinct roles in Russia: one carries out operational and search work, while the other conducts the criminal case’s preliminary investigation.
