World Day for the Destruction of War Toys
September 7 · Level 6 · #976 of 2238
This campaign day invites families to consider the place of toy weapons in children's play. Supporters encourage activities built around cooperation, imagination and resolving disagreements peacefully, with room for adventures beyond military themes.
How it is celebrated: campaigns collect toy weapons or offer exchanges for other playthings. Parents and educators discuss play habits and organize creative activities and cooperative games.
The dramatic name does not mean that everything has to be smashed: swapping a toy gun for a book or board game can express the same message.
