Global Day Against Pain
October 11 · Level 8 · #644 of 2238

Global Day Against Pain draws attention to pain and the importance of helping people who live with it. The initiative promotes research, professional education and access to care for both acute and chronic pain.
How it is celebrated: medical organisations arrange awareness events and professional meetings. Patients and specialists discuss experiences of care, communication difficulties and barriers that prevent people from getting help.
The first global campaign took place in 2004 with the involvement of the International Association for the Study of Pain and the World Health Organization, putting pain itself at the centre of international attention.
