Artists' Day in Ukraine
October 11 · Level 5 · #1306 of 2238
Ukraine's Artists' Day recognises visual artists and their contribution to the country's culture. It is an opportunity to appreciate the people whose paintings, sculptures and graphic works encourage us to look more closely at the world.
How it is celebrated: museums, galleries and artists' organisations hold exhibitions and meetings with creators. Artists receive congratulations from colleagues and audiences, with professional ceremonies and awards marking their achievements.
The occasion covers much more than painting: sculptors and graphic artists belong to it too. It is observed on the second Sunday in October, so its calendar date changes each year.
