Harvest Festival in Armenia

Armenia's Harvest Festival celebrates the season's produce and the people who grow it. It brings farmers and town dwellers together to discover local food and appreciate the work behind a well-filled basket.

How it is celebrated: agricultural fairs showcase fruit, vegetables, grapes and processed foods. Visitors sample dishes, buy directly from producers and enjoy music and traditional crafts alongside the harvest displays.

Armenian winemaking reaches remarkably far into the past. Archaeologists discovered a winemaking complex around six thousand years old in the Areni-1 cave, giving today's autumn grapes a connection to a much older harvest story.
