World Cerebral Palsy Day

Cerebral palsy is a movement disorder caused by damage to the brain early in development. This day shines a light on the lives of people with CP and asks for a world that is open and welcoming to everyone.

How it is celebrated: in many countries buildings are lit up in green, people wear green ribbons and clothes, and families and friends join charity runs, exhibitions and meetups.

Cerebral palsy is the most common motor disability in childhood. It looks very different from person to person, from slightly clumsy movement to a need for round-the-clock support.
